Hi, I'm Alan Gordon, and my wife and I have been investors in real estate for about six years now in the Kansas City area. Jay has been our insurance agent, and he's always been the guy to advise us on when to take a more expensive policy or endorsement. Other times when he sold us one, we could spend a little less on some of these issues because we didn't feel we needed them.

And most importantly, he was always there to make sure the deal got done in a timely manner and everybody's needs taken care of. So we can't be happier working with Jay as our agent.

Hello, this is Allen Sander. We are in the restaurant and bar business, which is one of the tougher industries to be in to get insurance. Jay has worked very well with us researching all possibilities because you have to deal not only with the liability but liquor liability, which makes it so tough. And Missouri is a real tough state to get it.

So he has worked very hard and diligently checking out all of our options to make sure we have the best coverage available and also the best policies. He's been great to work with.

My name is Brad Spitz, and I'm the local president and owner of Bar-B-Clean of Kansas City. Our company specializes in outdoor barbecue grill cleanings, repairs, installations, and new grill sales. We cover the whole Kansas City Metro. We started working with Jay about two years ago, and we used Jay and his team for our commercial liability, auto and Worker's Comp. I would recommend Jay and his team for several reasons. One, very professional, easy to work with, very fair, hardworking, and also very responsive.

As a new business owner, I had a lot to learn, and he really did a nice job of coaching me through the right policies for what I needed. Also, his team very responsive at helping me with my commercial clients. We do a lot of work in Kansas City with apartments, associations, and multifamily unit homes, and they require high levels of insurance and certificates to go with those.

And in order to do business with those clients, we need to have those certificates buttoned up, and we request those all the time from Jay and his team, and they get those turned around very quickly, often within an hour once I've requested those. So very important to help me grow my business is getting those locked in, and they do a great job. Again, highly recommend. They've been a great partner for us at Bar-B-Clean of Kansas City.

Commercial Property Insurance: Protecting Your Business Assets.

Commercial property insurance protects businesses from financial losses due to damage to physical assets.

It covers risks such as fire, theft, and natural disasters for various business types.

Insurance costs depend on factors like property location, construction materials, and tenant use.

Businesses must assess their assets to determine appropriate coverage and replacement value.

Properties in disaster-prone areas, like wildfire regions, often face higher premiums.

A little clarity

Good questions.
Clearer next steps.

Start with a few common questions, then explore the FAQs for your household or business.

Explore all FAQs
Why is rebuilding cost different from a home’s market value?

Market value includes factors such as location and land. A coverage review considers the cost of rebuilding the structure, including labor and materials. Bring details of renovations and additions to discuss the dwelling limit.

What does additional insured mean?

An endorsement may give another party specified rights under a liability policy. Bring the contract requirement and the party’s details so the endorsement can be reviewed; a certificate alone does not establish the requested coverage.

Where should a restaurant or bar insurance review begin?

Start with the operation: food and alcohol sales, hours, employees, premises and lease requirements. Discuss liability, property, staff and vehicle exposures with Jay rather than assuming every hospitality business needs the same arrangement.
